Fancy Green Diamond
The natural green diamonds are originated in South Africa and Brazil. Its formation process is because colorless diamonds are exposed to natural harmless traces of radiation in the ground; their color distribution is uneven and will show excellent bands depending on the cut surface, and usually have green or brown surface spots. In order to prove that this is a natural green diamond, diamond cutters will deliberately retain these spots, because the color saturation will be reduced after cutting, which decrease their value; therefore, the clarity of green diamonds is mostly not high and less demanding.
Natural green diamonds are quite rare, and they are rarely seen in international auctions; therefore, natural green diamonds are rare, precious and valuable diamonds among colored diamonds, sometimes even more expensive than blue diamonds.
Fancy Yellow Diamond
The yellow coloring in natural yellow diamonds are the addition of nitrogen within the compound element in the stone. Diamonds with colors after D to Z can be called Fancy Yellow Diamond in the color grade. Only less than 5% can reach the Fancy Vivid grade. Yellow diamonds of this grade are rare and hard to find. Natural yellow diamonds are more common than other colored diamonds. They are a good choice for entry-level collectors or buyers, and their prices have always been competitive. In addition to buying for daily wear, it is recommended to choose Fancy Intense Yellow or above for collection and investment.
Fancy Blue Diamond
Most of the blue diamonds in the world come from the Cullinan Mine in South Africa, also India, Brazil and so on. Natural blue diamonds are formed because they contain boron, which is gray or blue; they belong to the "Type" IIb" diamonds which account for only 0.1% of the number of natural colored diamonds. There is only 1 pcs of blue diamond for every 200,000 diamonds, and there is an average of only 1 per year for those with more than 1 carat; the global annual output of blue diamonds does not exceed 20pcs, which shows its rarity. As they are extremely rare and precious, blue diamonds are the coveted choice of diamond collectors and investors.
Fancy Red Diamond
The main origin of natural red diamonds are South Africa and Australia. The reason for the formation is distortion in the crystal structure, which is called "plastic deformation". It is a unique, rare and precious colored diamond. It is the most valuable colored diamond, followed by blue diamonds and green diamonds. In the GIA classification, red diamonds have only one color grade-Fancy Red, and the clarity ranges from flawless (IF) to included (I2).
Currently the largest red diamond is the Moussaieff Red of the 5.11 carat triangle Fancy Red produced in Brazil. Until 2021, the market price is about 2 Million US dollars per carat.
Argyle
Argyle diamonds are named after the Argyle Diamond Mine located in the Kimberley region of Australia. It has been mined since 1985 and mainly produces pink diamonds, and also blue and red Diamonds. The reason of pink color for its formation is the slight deformation in the structure, and the color ranges from light pink to bright purple or even red. Argyle pink diamonds have their own brand of color system to evaluate diamonds, divided into: Purplish Pink (purple pink), Pink (pink), Pink Rose (pink rose), Pink Champagne (pink champagne).
There is only 1 pink diamond for every 100,000 diamonds, which accounts for only 1% of global gem production. Argyle pink diamonds of 1 carat or more account for only 1% of the output, and bigger than 0.20ct account for only 9.6%, so the size of Argyle diamonds is usually not big and rare. In addition, the Argyle Mine has stopped mining and has closed, so the number of pink diamonds on the market is getting less and the value will increase for no doubt, it is the best choice for colored diamond investment.
